Sonya Chandler is Assistant Professor at the University of Victoria, Canada, since April 2015. She is at the same time Consultant Quality and Experience at Vancouver Island Health Authority, working to improve staff and patient experience. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing that she received with distinction in 2002 and an European Master specialized in Sustainable Regional Health Systems attended at the University of Verona (Italy), the Universidad de Deusto (Spain) and Corvinus university of Budapest (Hungary).
Through her work experience, Sonya Chandler has always put energy to improve the quality of life and service. During her time at the Island Sexual Health Society, at the University of Victoria Family Center or as a nurse at the Victoria Youth Clinic for instance, she promoted social responsibility, positive values and sensitivity to diversity, created strong reliable relationships between the different parts (patients, staff members, students etc.). She also played a central coordination role within the strategic expansion of clinical services during the nine years when she was employed at The Victoria Youth Clinic.
