At the end of each academic year, a 3 ECTS integration module focusing on the development of cross-cutting competencies brings together first and second year students for 3 weeks on the campus of EHESP School of Public Health in Rennes (France).
This module is an opportunity for students to practice and consolidate their knowledge and methodological skills, while developing operational and analytical skills necessary for answering a hypothetical tender to tackle a global health challenge. It aims to:
- develop critical thinking, transnational team-work, project management, the drafting of project documents, communication and negotiation skills, advocacy and leadership skills.
- foster the development of culturally sensitive practice.
- Integrate first year and second year students through creating a space for peer learning and exchange of ideas and practice with the aim of fostering long lasting transnational ties.
Each edition addresses a different topic (eg. public health emergencies, migrant health, disaster management...) to meet the larger objective of "Building innovative and sustainable solutions to global health challenges".First and second year students are asked to work in small student led teams and design and defend an innovative and sustainable public health intervention to address a global health challenge. Groups are tutored by international visiting professors, faculty members from EHESP and other experienced academics and professionals working in the field of public health worldwide.
