    Tony has had a varied career, both in the UK and overseas, holding a variety of positions at staff, line management and board levels. In recent years, Tony has worked increasingly in academic and consulting roles. His developing interest in Behavioural Science, the Management of Change and Organisational Consulting, led him to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Managing Change (2000) and an MSc Organisation Development and Consultancy (2001).

    Tony is currently involved in a range of teaching, research and consultancy activities. He is the module leader for the Organisational Behaviour and the Management of Change modules of the MSc Programme in Health Economics and Health Service Management, and he Understanding Organisations Module of the Master of Public Health Programme. Recent projects include:
    - A pilot national training and development programme for NHS Research and Development managers funded by the Secretary of State for Health.
    - The development of an online self-assessment tool to assist in local implementation of the National Occupational Standards for Mental Health
    - The DELTAH project: - A three year Action Research and Learning programme funded by the European Commission’s Leonardo Da Vinci programme aiming to develop Leadership skills in Healthcare organisations in three countries
    - Evaluating the Validity and Reliability and HRM measures: - a two year project to review existing evidence of the reliability and validity of measure of Human Resource Management interventions.
    - Motivational Practice Development: an action research project to develop motivational skills of health care practitioners and evaluating the impact of adopting motivational approaches to improve self-care of chronic diseases.
    Organisational Learning Systems in Primary Care: The development of a continuous feedback and analysis systems for primary care organisations
