> Masters course
EUROPUBHEALTH Masters Course is a postgraduate degree for all those who wish to embark on a career in public health.
Training firmly rooted in on-the-ground realities
The Master provides a high level education in public health issues. Its main goal is to enable the students to improving the health of both specific population groups and the population as a whole through : - The designing, planning, implementation, advising and assessment of health prevention and promotion programmes.
- The management of health and social services and establishments.
It is intended to provide students with methods, analytical tools and conceptual knowledge required to understand public health issues. It is based on imparting academic knowledge and basic savoir-faire related to public health and on acquiring the necessary skills for the various functions which the students, as future public health professionals, will have to carry out at local, regional, national, European or even international level of the system, both in the public and the private sectors.
A two year masters programme
EUROPUBHEALTH is a two year Masters course (120 ECTS Credits)
The first year curriculum covers the basic issues of public health. It is offered in Spain or in the United Kingdom.
The second year specialises in a particular subject, with seven specialisations based on fields of excellence of the consortium universities. During this specialisation year, students carry out research work (dissertation) and a practical placement. Each student selects one specialisation and attends the courses in a country (Denmark, Poland, Spain or France) that must be different from year1.
Two modules bring together all Europublhealth students for international and cross disciplinary work. Depending on the specialisation chosen and the language skills, the students follow one training pathway among 9 different possibilities.

Truly European added value
Based on the experience and excellence of six European institutions that provide high quality and fully recognised academic training in public health, Europubhealth offers real European added-value. The six partner universities represent five European countries (Denmark, France, Poland, Spain and United Kingdom). Their geographic locations and their cultures resulting from this, (North, Centre, East, West, South), along with the diversity of their health systems (deconcentrated/socialised, liberal with socialised funding, liberal in transition) demonstrate an enriched and virtually an exhaustive vision of the European territory. The specialisations reflect the excellence of each university in the field ; these specialisations are also the reflection of issues which, although of relevance to some other regions of the world, are clearly linked to a possible "Europe of Health" model (Ethics, Environment, Social welfare, Quality Management ). The two sequences in which all the Master students will be together ("International Health" and "Inter-speciality") have been designed and will be led by a teaching team from the six partner universities, thus guaranteeing a real European approach to the issues dealt with. In particular, the final seminar will be based on a case-study on trans-European health co-operation. The compulsory practical placement that each student will undertake in the 4th semester will be based on a concrete European issue which has a direct link with the chosen specialisation.
