Most Frequently Asked Questions
What is the duration of the program?
Europubhealth is a two-year master course.
Can I study 1 year only ?
You cannot study 1year only if you want to get Europubhealth double degrees.
Can I directly enter the 2nd year?
It is not possible to enter directly the 2nd year. You must undertake the entire master course.
Is Europubhealth a part-time or full-time programme?
Europubhealth is a full-time programme.
Does Europubhealth master offer distance (on-line) training?
No, Europubhealth does not offer distance training. On the contrary, it requires international mobility, as students must undertake courses in at least three different countries.
How are organized the courses during the two years?
Europubhealth is a two year Masters course equivalent to 120 ECTS Credits. The first year concerns the foundations of public health and takes place either in Sheffield (in English) or in Granada (in Spanish). The second year of specialisation is held in a different country. Two modules bring together all Europubhealth students in Rennes at the end of the first year (4 weeks) and at the end of the second year (2 weeks).
How are the modules assessed?
Assessment is divided into three stages:
1. National assessment Each member of the consortium assesses the students at the end of each training module. The assessment methods and grading scales have been agreed upon by all the members of the consortium. The student will need to obtain the minimum required standards for module validation. If the coordinator of the module considers that a student has not achieved the minimum required standard, he will then set the student complementary work designed to help the student achieve the required level. Such a procedure would not disqualify the student from continuing on to another module. If however following such corrective help achievement levels remain insufficient, the student will be asked to redo the modules in questions.
2. Transnational integrated assessment: This assessment involves at least two members of the consortium. This applies to the integration module 1 and 2 and the final dissertation.
3. An assessment committee comprising one member of each partner of the consortium has the task and responsibility of gathering the results of the different assessments. This committee reviews individual module assessments and the integrated assessment and grants admission (or not) into the 2nd year. If the student has not achieved the minimum required standards the committee will propose supplementary tasks to the student to be carried out during the summer break. The final decision to grant or not grant the Masters degree will also be taken by the same assessment committee.

A Selection Committee composed of representatives of all the partner universities meets twice a year (once for Eramus Mundus applicants and once for the self-funded ones). The Committee studies each of the eligible applications. It classifies the applicants and publishes the list of those accepted as well as a waiting list. The co-ordinating establishment of the consortium notifies each applicant of the results and organises the registration for the Masters Course.

Erasmus/Socrates scholarships can cover mobility periods of 3 to 12 months.
