Final
module in Rennes
From
June 30th to July 11th 2008, the EHESP hosted the second and
final integration module.
The students, who first met during the first integration module
in Krakow in July 2007, had the pleasure of meeting afresh in
Rennes in order to work in groups on two European public health
themes: “Healthy cities’ network in Europe”
and “Citizens’ involvement in health and health
services policy”.
They also presented their research work through a poster exhibition.
Francesca Senese (Italy) won a prize for the best poster “Has
decentralization of health care in Italy affected horizontal
equity?” and will receive a subscription to the newspaper
“European Journal of Public Health” published by
the EUPHA
(European Public Health Association).
The
first Europubhealth graduation
At the graduation ceremony held at the end of the module, the
students received their diplomas with much emotion in the presence
of the consortium partners, the EHESP staff and of course their
families and friends who travelled to Rennes from the four corners
of the world.
For this special occasion, the students also given a scarf specially
designed by “Philogan” a creative artist living
in Brittany. The ceremony combining Breton music and song joyously
featured speeches from the students and representatives of the
consortium. The students were given a good send off. Many of
them had already secured professional appointments following
their Europubhealth master course.

The

and Granada in order to work together on global health issues.
Students attended lectures and participated in workshops with
teachers and professors from the different universities in the
Europubhealth consortium, as well as international experts coming
from the WHO, the UNDP and other organizations.
In multicultural groups they dealt with transnational public
health issues, defining strategies to tackle international public
