Perfil :

  • I am a Chartered Health Psychologist who joined the School in 2005 as a Lecturer in Psychology. Before working at the School, I was a Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Keele University where my teaching focussed on health psychology, biological psychology, and research design and methodology. My main research interests are stress, coping and adjustment particularly in relation to major life events/transitions and chronic health conditions, and the impact on physical and mental health. Current projects relate to:

    - Conceptual, methodological and statistical issues in oral health-related quality of life research
    - The family impact of cleft lip and palate: Evaluating coping, support and adjustment
    - Childhood Dental Trauma: A resiliency model of adjustment
    - Exploring Asian British experience of living with visible disfigurement
    - Behind the smile: Coping and self-esteem in children with dental and oro-facial differences

These projects are funded by Sheffield Health and Social Research Consortium, University of Sheffield Project Studentship, Medicine Devolved Funds and Dental School Fund, ESRC Case Studentship award, Sheffield Hospitals Charitable Trust.
